    New Research Highlights Cost and Impact of School Fires

    Research by the National Fire Sprinkler Network (NFSN) shows that school fires in England occur six to seven times a week and cost around £126 million annually. The report highlights that over 97% of fires happen in buildings without sprinklers and calls for sprinkler systems to be mandatory in all new and refurbished school buildings to reduce damage and disruption to education.

    Businessman Fined £48,000 Due to Fire Safety Breaches

    The owner of a vacant office building in Peterlee, County Durham, has been fined £48,000 after nine individuals were discovered sleeping inside the premises during a fire safety inspection.
