Full-Time Trainer - Immediate Start

  • Trainer (Immediate start) – Full-time, permanent

The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours, delivering a mix of online and in-person courses across the UK (typically around 120 delivery days per year).

We’re seeking professionals with a Fire Detection & Alarm (FD&A) background – but this doesn’t exclude those with strong experience in fire risk assessment, fire safety management, or other fire-related training. If you can teach, communicate clearly, and want to help raise industry competence, we want to hear from you.

Base is flexible – Hampton HQ, Northwich, or home-based – with national travel required.

  • Deliver engaging training in Fire Detection & Alarm systems, Fire Risk Assessment, and related fire safety areas
  • Write, review, and update course materials, including slides, handouts, and assessments
  • Mark and provide feedback on assessments and coursework, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with FIA’s quality standards
  • Support learners by answering post-course technical queries
  • Work closely with FIA Technical team and other trainers to ensure all materials are accurate and aligned with current standards
  • Strong FD&A background or equivalent fire industry experience (fire risk assessments, inspection, consultancy, or enforcement)
  • Proven ability to communicate and teach technical concepts to adult learners
  • Good understanding of BS 5839, and other relevant standards
  • Confident with PowerPoint, Microsoft 365, and online delivery tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Teaching or assessment qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training – AET)
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) or digital training tools
  • Prior delivery of fire safety training or involvement in developing industry learning materials
