If your business installs or maintains systems containing F-Gases, you must hold the appropriate certification. Both companies and technicians need to be approved to comply with UK legislation. The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is the approved certification and training body for fire systems under these regulations.
The Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2015 and 2018 Amendments, now updated under the 2021 EU Exit Regulations, require that all systems containing F-Gases are installed and maintained by qualified individuals. Companies working in these areas must also be certified.
These rules exist to ensure that F-Gases are handled safely, preventing emissions and supporting environmental protection. Operating without valid certification is an offence under UK law.
